The Edward E. MacTaggart Department of Music will be providing the College and community with a bit of culture and amusement as its 2014-15 concert season gets underway this fall.
Marietta College’s Frederica G. Esbenshade Series returns this fall for its 34th season with a variety of programs that should offer something to most fans of the arts.
All performances start at 7:30 p.m. and will be held in the Alma McDonough Auditorium unless specified otherwise. All performances are free and open to the public.
Adorning the walls of his home and office are a variety of quotations, written in calligraphy, that Harry H. Esbenshade, Jr. held dear and attributed to his personal philosophy of life.
One such calligraphy, by John Ruskin, a 19th century British art critic and philanthropist, was kept in Esbenshade’s Vienna, W.Va., office.
