Two performances in Marietta College’s Frederica G. Esbenshade Series have been rescheduled in February to accommodate a conflict with the performers.
An Evening with Jake Runestad, an award-winning composer, with the Marietta College Choir has been moved from Feb. 1 to Feb. 18 at 7:30 p.m. Considered, “highly imaginative… with big ideas” (Baltimore Sun) and “stirring and uplifting” (Miami Herald), Runestad has acquired the reputation as one of the most creative and innovative composers of his generation. The evening’s performance will include some of Runestad’s choral works presented by the Concert Choir (Daniel G Monek, conductor) and will feature the world premiere of a new work written especially for this occasion.
Marietta College’s is excited to present the sixth annual Christmas with the Concert Choir and Orchestra at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 14.
“The choir members raise all of the funds for the concert,” said Dr. Daniel G. Monek, Chair of the Department of Music at Marietta College. “The choir views this as their gift to the community for the support they receive all year long.”
