For Melanie Boyd ’12 (Shrewsbury, W.Va.) fall break means going home to her dog Abby, visiting her sister and eating mom’s lasagna.
Boyd will join many of her classmates the weekend of Oct. 9-12 in making a trip home for a few days.

Shana Gilbert, a director and writer of documentary films, will be at Marietta College on Oct. 13 to discuss her recent film, “MZUNGU (n.) White-Wanderer.”
The 80-minute documentary will be screened starting at 7:30 p.m. and then Gilbert will interact with the audience until 10 p.m. in the Alma McDonough Auditorium.
