Students select Paige Lamb queen, C.J. Englert king

royalty-2013

Marietta College’s Paige Lamb ’14 (Marietta, Ohio) and C.J. Englert ’14 (Grand Island, N.Y.) were crowned 2013 Homecoming royalty during halftime of the Pioneers’ football game against John Carroll on Saturday (Oct. 12).

Representing the women’s basketball team, Lamb will graduate in May with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science. She is also minoring in Psychology. Englert was nominated by Alpha Tau Omega and is majoring in Political Science.

The much-anticipated announcement of the 2013 Homecoming queen and king was just one of many highlights in a weekend that was chock full of activities for students and alumni — many of which had both groups interacting on campus.

Sunshine and temperatures in the 70s made for a picturesque weekend, and the alumni and student body responded by packing every activity that was planned — including the All-Alumni and Friends Homecoming Kickoff Celebration on Friday and the Football Tailgate on Saturday.

The College also added three members — Rich Galen ’68, Denzil Prather ’47 and Robert Walsh ’62 — to the Hall of Honor on Saturday, along with handing out a number of other alumni awards.

Homecoming 2013 came to a close on Sunday with the All-Alumni and Friends Breakfast in the Gilman Dining Hall.
