Marietta College's Edward E. MacTaggart Department of Music is conducting its annual Spring Choral Concert at 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 27, at First Congregational Church, 318 Front St., Marietta, Ohio.
The concert features performances by the Marietta College Women's Choir and Marietta College Concert Choir, both under the direction of Dr. Daniel Monek, Chair of the Department. The Women's choir will perform a multi-movement work for women's choir and string quartet by American composer, Linda Tutas Haugen entitled Anne Frank: A Living Voice. This moving work presents texts from The Diary of Anne Frank. Composer Linda Tutas Haugen writes, “My goals for this composition are to honor the life of Anne Frank, and to gain a deeper understanding of what she, her family, and friends experienced during the Holocaust.”
