Curious fifth graders spend the day with Marietta’s scientists

The floor littered with fragments of colorful balloons and the smell of smoke still lingering in the air, the two fifth-grade girls knew it had to be something good.

Second annual Nonprofit Capacity Conference at Marietta College

Department of Music readies for Spring Choral Concert on April 27

choir-springMarietta College's Edward E. MacTaggart Department of Music is conducting its annual Spring Choral Concert at 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 27, at First Congregational Church, 318 Front St., Marietta, Ohio.
 
The concert features performances by the Marietta College Women's Choir and Marietta College Concert Choir, both under the direction of Dr. Daniel Monek, Chair of the Department. The Women's choir will perform a multi-movement work for women's choir and string quartet by American composer, Linda Tutas Haugen entitled Anne Frank: A Living Voice. This moving work presents texts from The Diary of Anne Frank. Composer Linda Tutas Haugen writes, “My goals for this composition are to honor the life of Anne Frank, and to gain a deeper understanding of what she, her family, and friends experienced during the Holocaust.”
