College announces $3 million Jean A. Scott Endowment

Decades after Dr. Jean A. Scott has left Marietta College, her endearing spirit will remain relevant on campus.
 
Multiple gifts from alumni, faculty, staff and friends of Marietta College totaling $3 million have helped establish the Jean A. Scott Endowment, which will go toward supplementing faculty salaries and provide annual staff awards.
 
The endowment was announced during Friday night’s Erwin Academy Dinner, which also provided the College an opportunity to celebrate Dr. Scott’s 12 remarkable years as Marietta College’s president.

College welcomes more than 300 graduates into The Long Blue Line

While their Senior Week was filled with sun and warm temperatures, the Class of 2012 wasn’t so lucky on Sunday, May 13.
 
Fortunately, Marietta College’s 175th Commencement was inside the temperature-controlled Dyson Baudo Recreation Center and the spirits remained positive. That is where Marietta College President Dr. Jean A. Scott, who was presiding over her 12th and final graduation, and Provost Dr. Gama Perruci handed out the diplomas in a variety of 44 different majors in front of more than 2,000 family and friends.

Concert Choir to begin six-show spring tour on Monday, May 14

spring-choirMarietta College’s Concert Choir will begin a seven-day, six-show, four-state spring tour starting in Bristol, Va., on May 14.
 
The first concert will be conducted at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 700 Cumberland St. Admission to each concert is free.
