College announces Planetarium public showings for December

Each month Dr. Ann Bragg thinks the community interest in Marietta College’s Anderson Hancock Planetarium will begin to wane. To her excitement she continues to be wrong.
 
Six months since its dedication, the Planetarium has welcomed 6,000 visitors through community nights, special programming for area school children and open houses.

Pizza, Poetry, and Prose celebrates 175th anniversary

The overflow of delicious pizza in the Gathering Place on Wednesday night wasn’t the only thing that brought people to the first Pizza, Poetry, and Prose of the fall semester.
 
Students, faculty, and staff alike joined together to commemorate 175 years of student creativity through writing in what was themed: “Looking Forward-Writing Back.”

Holiday card design competition produces creative work from students


As many people were settling into the warmer weather and enjoying the sun shine upon their skin last spring, a few students were hunkering down and returning their minds to a colder season: the winter holidays. 
 
For the third year in a row, the President’s Holiday Card Design Competition has produced beautiful works of art to use as a representation of Marietta during the Holiday season. This year, it was hard for President Jean Scott to choose which of the seven card entries would be deemed the best Holiday card.
