For nearly every one of his 90 years, Dr. Richard M. Krause ’47 was a Marietta College Pioneer. Krause, one of Marietta’s most famous alumni, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, after a short illness near Washington, D.C.
“We are saddened to hear about the passing of Dr. Krause. He was not only one of our most illustrious graduates but also a strong supporter of Marietta College and the liberal arts education,” said Marietta College President Joseph W. Bruno. “Diane and I enjoyed our multiple interactions with Dr. Krause since we joined the Marietta family — most recently in November when he gifted more of his prized art collection to the College. Our condolences to all of his family and friends who mourn the loss of such a great person.”
