New initiative to demonstrate impact of recycling on Marietta campus

Marietta College produces a lot of trash.

How much? Consider this. It would take less than two months to fill up the foundation of Legacy Library - under construction - with waste at the rate the College currently produces garbage.

To help reduce this huge volume of refuse, a new recycling initiative has been implemented on campus, and a major recycling event is planned for the week of Nov. 12-16.

DeLaat selected to chair Washington Semester advisory group

Marietta College's Dr. Jacqueline DeLaat, McCoy Professor of political science, was selected Chair of the Institutional Liaisons Group, composed of the campus representatives of more than 200 colleges and universities that participate in the Washington Semester program.

The group is an advisory board, and also nominates the 500 students who attend the program each semester.
