A momentous occasion: Marietta begins its 175th anniversary celebration

In 1835, Andrew Jackson was president and the United States was mostly an agrarian society, with economic depressions hitting about every two to three years, she said.

Forbes ranks Marietta College in top 19 percent of U.S. Colleges

forbesForbes.com, which is in its second year of ranking U.S. colleges and universities, lists Marietta College in the top 19 percent of “America’s Best Colleges.”
 
Marietta has moved up 56 spots from a year ago to the 112th Best College. The rankings include 600 of the roughly 4,000 undergraduate institutions. The ranking places Marietta between the Knox College (111) and Bates College (113).
