Nearly 1,000 high school students for music competition

music-sheetsWhen Marietta College’s Dr. Daniel Monek agreed to co-chair the Ohio Music Educators Association District IX High School Solo & Ensemble competition he was expecting about 450 students.
 
With the event scheduled for Feb. 4 on Marietta College’s campus, Monek and his fellow co-chair Marshall Kimball are preparing for nearly 1,000 students to participate in the all-day competition.

Students organize special performance for Lunar New Year

dragon-2012Monday marked the beginning of a very special year in the Chinese culture—the Year of the Dragon.
 
As part of the tradition of celebrating the start of the Lunar New Year, a handful of students on campus will offer a special performance on Saturday.
